Mock-up of the four flags Héraldique is a collaborative project with Juliette Mottier and Sarah Hadjazi, involving symbolic signage comprising four flags for the Cité du Design neighbourhood. Its visual language draws directly from reality: the structure of each flag is derived from a geometric abstraction of the neighbourhood’s plans, defining the divisions and heraldic elements. The figures adorning them are objects collected from the immediate surroundings.
By elevating these everyday relics to the status of contemporary coats of arms, the project creates an emblematic language rooted both in the topography of the site and in its ordinary materiality.
